    Abstract

    Liquid urea contains nitrogen about 10% to 28% and this liquid is by product from urea factory. This liquid had been applied to chilly plants in low dosages (under 0,02%). The plants were dead if the application rates were above this level. The aims of this research were to find out the effects of liquid urea and tillage on soil chemical properties and also to rice plant growth. The axperimental design used was based on Split Plot Design. The results show that tillage affected total N, organic-C, and rice yieid significantly. No tillage increased rice yield, this could be caused by high organic matter content, higher pH and low Al. On tillage caused more soluble Al and lower pH than no tillage this was caused by mixture of sub soil and top soil. Liquid urea influenced total N, organic-C, C/N, plant high, maximum and productive tillers. This means that N from this liquid can act as N from other fertilizer, which can stimulate plant growth and yield. The optimum value was achieved at an application rate of 30 kg N/ha. This dosage has increased rice yield to 716 g/m2 (101%) compare to without N (355 g/m2). There was no toxic symptom on plant during the experiment. Thus this tiquid urea can be used as a fertilizer and it is suggested to applied 30.kg N/ha on this rice field.
