      Abstract

      Background : Children in 3-5th is called by preschool, which children are in the process of growth and classified as active consumer. Preschool was found the food disorder problem more than 20 %. It was caused by they can choose their favorite food or just want to eat the certain food. The goal in this research is to get the description cause of food disorder in preschool 3-5th in perumahan Top Amin Mulya Jakabaring Palembang 2009. Reseach Study : The research is a descriptive study with Cross Sectional approach.. Data were collected by interview method which used questioner and check list. Result : 59,3 % shown most of children in food disorder. The research was found the way to eat (divorce) for children in food disorder (100%), situation while eating with playing (87,0%), and had a good enough variety of food (69,2%), had unregular mealtime (63,6%), the frequency of food were bad (78,1%) dan and kind of food had ready matcthed with age (100%). But for children weren’t in food disorder was found the way to eat (what children want) were 75,0%, situation while eating with family (57,9%), and had a good variety of food (43,5%), regular mealtime (53,3%), good frequency of food (64,7%) and kind of food had ready matcthed with age (100%). Conclution : This research is concluded that the percentage of children in food disorder were 59,3% which was found the percentage the way to eat (divorce) for children in food disorder (100%), situation while eating with playing (87,0%), and had a good enough variety of food (69,2%), had unregular mealtime (63,6%), the frequency of food were bad (78,1%) and kind of food had ready matcthed with age (100%). This research is expected for the mother to give education to her child about the function of food for their bodies and healthy, and to do the further research to find the variable of knowledge, education and occupation of the mother
