    Abstract

    Penelitian secara eksperimental telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh etanol 70% dan 96% dalam campuran bahan bakar premium + etanol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terjadi penurunan nilai kalor rata-rata sebesar 70,7% dan peningkatan angka oktan rata-rata sebesar 3% pada campuran bahan bakar premium+etanol 70% serta 51,2% dan sebesar 4,5% pada campuran bahan bakar premium + etanol 96%. Persentase yang optimal untuk pencampuran bahan bakar premium + etanol 70% adalah 96,25% dan 3,75%, serta 93,125% premium dan 6,875% etanol untuk premium+etanol 96%. Penurunan nilai kalor dan peningkatan angka oktan dalam campuran bahan bakar premium+etanol disebabkan oleh jumlah kadar air dalam etanol 70% dan 96%. Kata Kunci : bahan bakar premium ,etanol, nilai kalor, angka oktan The experimentally research has conducted to know influence of ethanol 70% and 96% on heating value and octane number in gasoline-ethanol fuel blends. Based on results of experimental, heating value decreased means 70.7% and octane number increased means 3% in gasoline+etanol 70% fuel blends while its decreased about 51.2% and 4.5% in premium+etanol 96%. The optimal percentage of gasoline-ethanol 70% for blending is 96.25% and 3.75%, while 93.125% and 6.875% for premium+etanol 96%.The decreasing of heating value and increasing of octane number in premium+etanol fuel blends is affected by amount of water composition in ethanol 70% and 96%.
