    Abstract

    Diversification is a strategic choice with long-term implication on the subject matter. There are diverse fundamental theories which discuss diversification, namely Market Power View, Resources Based View, Internal Transaction Cost, and Agency Theory. The results of previous some researches show that there are different perspectives on the significance of diversification on company value. Involving factors as financing mix as a mediating factor of diversification on company value. This research aims at describing and analyzing the role of diversification on company value, diversification on financing mix, financing mix on company value and financing mix as a mediating variable of diversification on company value. This research was conducted in secondary sectors of Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2006-2010. Based on the criteria of the defined population, the sampling method applied in this research is saturation sampling, as known as census. The number of sample for this research is eighteen (18) companies with 72 analyis of unit. Analysis method to be used is Smart PLS Ver 2.0 M3. The result of research shows that business diversification gives significant influence on the level of the company value, the higher diversification carried the greater use of financing mix, but the use of high financing mix lowers the company value, then it was found that financing mix acts as a partial mediating influence on diversification on company value. The researcher gives strong recommendation for company to increase the business growth to attract more prospective investors. Key words: Diversification, Financing Mix, Company Value.
