    Abstract

    In medical research, fetal ultrasonography images are used to provide information about fetal growth in the mother's womb without check directly in the mother's womb. But the images produced by ultrasound has not provided information completely .Therefore, to identify clearly the fetal shape from ultrasonography, required image analysis should be able to detect the edge boundaries of objects that can distinguish between one object with another object in an ultrasound image of the fetus. This research used Canny Edge Detection Method, because it has several advantages in the extract edges with freedom of choice of parameters used. This research result is to get the shape and size of the fetal. As the results obtained by Canny method, not infrequently in the medical reseacrh using this method in extracting the shape to fetal growth diagnosis.
