    Abstract

    Industrial mining, specially coal is an solid capital, labour intensive and high risk. In this case very require by accurate analysis regarding situation, position, quality from coal deposit, so that can be made designed plan of stripping overburden kendi (not yet been mined). Coal seam which there are in Bukit Kendi is included Muara Enim Formation, where this formation have underlain Airbenakat Formation an d have been close over as comformity by Kasai Formation. Third of this formation were intruded by andesite in Pliosen and cause the quality of coal become highly rank. Besides that, the research area controlled by fold structure and normal fault. The method in determination of coal extending used by stratmodel minescape software and the minescape open cut coal. This software can be used to make structural contour of coal and than also can be used to know the coal reserve mineable. Of the result analyse and data processing in research area, hence can know that from 5 drill hole data of coal seam in block IV consist of three coal seam that is seam of A, B and C thickly vary from 3.4 m until 8.8 m by position of coal seam in general is N270□E/45. Coal quality in Block IV range from 5.965 – 7.900 Kkal/kg.
