    Abstract

    The purpose of this study was to find out the children's English achievement through reading the stories and poerns aloud. The subjects of this study were 8 children consisted of 4 females and 4 males at the age of five, six, seven, nine, and ten who volunteered coming to the Reading and lrarning Center (RLC) of Siiwijaya University library, for 36 meetings. These students were observed during the study and tested before, during, and after the meetings. The percentage method was usert in analyzing the data gained from the test results. The findings of this study showed that the children obtained a good improvement in their English achievement.
